January 31st News and Notes

Student Teacher - Dakota Wood
Next week we will be welcoming our student teacher, Dakota Wood.  Dakota comes to us from HLG and she will be working in our classroom from February through April.

Lutheran Schools' Week
The kids are super excited about the events coming up next week!  Please refer to the schedule that was sent last week for the daily dress and activities.  Our first event- singing in church on Sunday at the 10:00 St. John's service!

Saxon Math Homework
Thank you to all parents who diligently look for the Math homework in the nightly folders!  A tip for you... assessments happen with lessons ending in 5 and 0.   Right now, we are working through lessons 70-1, 70-2, and 70-3.  On these three nights, we will not have homework as we are assessing during school hours.  Homework will start up again with lesson 71.  Another question ... should parents check the "A" side as well as the "B" side of homework?  Absolutely!  We want to the students to achieve an A 100% on each assignment!  If they are not understanding something, talking it through with a parent may be just the thing they need!  Also, sometimes, due to time constraints, we are unable to fully complete the "A" side.  Again, thank you for your help!  It means a lot!

Religion
Happy Lutheran Schools' Week!  In celebration, we will be taking the week off from Memory Work.

January 7th ... Another Snow Day!

Well here we are again ... adding another day to our Christmas Vacation!  I hope this new post finds you warm and safe (and possibly dreaming about palm trees and beaches like I am)!

Please note the following additional changes to our week's schedule, providing that we are able to get back to school on Wednesday:

*Tuesday Memory will be said on Thursday.
*Thursday Memory will be said on Friday.
*Friday Memory (Second Grade) will be postponed until next week.
*We will not have a formal Spelling Test on Friday, but each grade will have a Spelling Bee.  It might be a good idea to practice all of our Spelling words from the year so far to prepare.  This can be easily done on Spelling City by clicking on all of our former archived lists!
*Reading homework assignments will come home on Wednesday and Friday evenings.

See you soon!

Love and Blessings,
Mrs. Bradshaw
