April 24th News and Notes

Important Dates This Week:
Thursday, April 30th -
1.  All field trip money and lunch forms due back to school
2.  First Day of Achievement Testing for First and Second - Please have your student bring a water bottle to school that is clearly marked with their name.  Snack will be provided.  Our classroom is starting testing on this day to keep ahead with our field trip day scheduled for May 7th on the Thursday of the "official" testing week...
3.  Science Fair - 6:00 - 7:00pm - Please come and see our classroom group project!  Also, you can browse the individual projects as completed by our older students!

Friday, May 1st -
Walk-a-Thon at HHS High School Track - 8:30 - 11:00am - Please have your student wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a water bottle clearly marked with their name.  Pledge forms are due on this day as well.  Drivers are needed for this event if you are available....please contact me early next week!

If you would like to be a chaperone on our trip to St. Louis on Thursday, May 7th, please return all admission fees as described in the green letter by Thursday, April 30th.  Even if you are not attending as a chaperone, please return the white half-sheet attached to the green sheet indicating what your child plans to do for lunch on the day of the trip.

Field Day - Wednesday, May 20th
We are searching for some parents that might be able to help out with all or part of Field Day this year.  Teachers will be running games and we are needing parents who can take groups of students from game to game.  Please let me know if you can help us!

Due to schedule changes on Thursday and Friday, we will be having a shortened Spelling test for each grade on Wednesday.  Please have your child prepared to test on the first five words on each list below.  They will receive bonus points for any additional words that they can spell correctly after that...

Field Trip Information Form
Please look for this form in the Friday Communication Folder.  It gives more detailed information about our upcoming Field Trip to St. Louis on May 7th.  If you can attend as a chaperone, please return admission fees by Thursday, April 30th.  Please let me know if you have any questions!
